Thank you for choosing to apply for Excel Artistic Swimming “Able to Soar in Artistic Swimming”. An adapted artistic swimming program for children with developmental disabilities. The club is committed to treating swimmers, parents, volunteers and coaches with respect.  The information requested on these forms is considered confidential by the Excel Artistic Swimming Club and will be treated accordingly. All coaches are NCCP trained and have completed the NCCP Coaching Athletes with a Disability module. There will be a 3:1 ratio (pre-competitive) with maximum of 3 swimmers to each coach.

Who is eligible?
Children between the ages of 6 and 13 inclusive , with developmental disabilities, without significant physical or motor impairment that are both comfortable in the water without physical coach support (life jacket can be used) and that can work safely in a small group of 2-3 swimmers in an aquatic setting.

Application Process

  1. Filling out this application does not guarantee a spot. This application will be reviewed to determine if our club structure is capable of providing the services requested.

  2. If Excel is capable of providing the services requested you will will be contacted via email to confirm which free trial day (first day of the session) you too would like to attend. You will need to obtain a free trial membership through Alberta artistic swimming.

  3. Applicants will attend a trial day where their coach can confirm both that the applicant is comfortable in the water without physical coach support (life jacket can be used) and that the applicant can work safely in a small group of 2-3 swimmers.

  4. If the applicant is approved by the coach at the trial day you will be contacted via email to finish the registration process which includes paying online on the Excel website, membership with Alberta Artistic swimming, and filling out the electronic club information form.
